Children’s Choice Book Awards
I think I need my eyes checked. Every time I look up a book winner is announced. And now they are starting to come up with more awards. It may never end. At least this time it’s for a good cause — the kids.

• Ian Falconer won the Illustrator of the year award for Olivia Helps with Christmas and J.K. Rowling was named author of the year for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
• Award-winning titles included Frankie Stein by Lola M. Schaefer, illustrated by Kevan Atteberry in the kindergarten-second grade category; Big Cats by Elaine Landau for third-fourth grade; and Encyclopedia Horrifica by Joshua Gee for fifth-sixth grade.
