Dinner Table Discussion
At this point during the Defeat of Jesse James weekend it’s hard to imagine that there are places in the world without enough food. Are you kidding? I just ate my fifth ear of corn since breakfast! But it’s true. And, despite my joke, the problem is serious — as anyone who has read Paul Roberts’ The End of Food well knows.
As a reader, concerned citizen, and a proud owner/patron of Just Food, I was happy to hear that the co-op has decided to feature this salient book during what will undoubtedly be a lively discussion. Here are the details: the discussion will take place from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 11, in the Just Food event space. The conversation is free and the public is welcome. Call 507-650-0106 or stop by Just Food, 516 Water Street South, to reserve a seat.
And if you still need a copy of the “The End of Food,” you know where to turn.
