Looking Ahead

I think it was Edison who once said, “Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.”

calendars.JPGAt River City Books, they know this is the time of the year when folks start thinking about the year to come. While I was in the store the other day I noticed that manager Jon Lee has created a nice display of calendars — those of the large wall-hanging variety as well as smaller, notebook-style, and the always-popular page-a-days — just inside the front door. Some are hilariously funny, others offer scenic views (which certainly help in the initial months of the year anyway) and still more are designed for folks with particular interests.

If you happen to like visual aids, I snapped this picture, which doesn’t capture all offerings, but gives you an idea of what I am talking about.

Personally, I think planning is for the birds. Oh, wait!
