The Savings Will Be Here All Week
I hope the celebration in your house is at least half as much fun as the one going on in my humble sticks-and-twigs abode. In case your calendar does not note the occasion, today marks the official start of Children’s Book Week (Nov. 13-19). And at River City Books — your downtown headquarters for children’s books for five years running — that means they are having a huge children’s book sale. (Note that the savings are large; the books are normal size).
Here’s the skinny: All children’s books (that means any kids titles, from board books all the way up to young adult) are on sale all week for 15 percent off. No limits or restrictions of any kind. The more you buy, the more you save. Or something like that.
This is also a good time to remind you that it just so happens that the fledgling River City Books young adult book club is meeting tomorrow night (7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14) and if you’re free and a teen reader you should really consider going. The selected book (the group’s first one) is A Brief Chapter in My Impossible Life by Dana Reinhardt, which is on sale at RCB for 20 percent off to those wishing to participate in the club. The book’s gotten great reviews and Katie Goetz, RCB bookseller and moderator of the club, is very high on it.
The River City young adult book club is free and open anyone between the ages of 12 and 18.
See you — and the young people in your life — this week at River City. Let the fun resume.
