Authors Visiting During Winter Walk

We’re just two days away from my very favorite night of Cold Season: Winter Walk, that delightful night when Northfield’s comely streets are lit with luminaries, people pack downtown and hop into horse-drawn carriages, and retailers open their doors for a terrific night of shopping.

River City Books has been an enthusiastic supporter of Winter Walk since becoming your downtown source for books more than five years ago and this year is no different. Among other frivolities, RCB will host three book signings during Winter Walk:

From 6 to 7 p.m. — Bill Cupp, author of “A Wartime Journey: Bail-Out over Belgium, World War II.”

From 7 to 8 p.m. — Melanie Clifford, author of “The Earth Waited: A Christmas Treasury,” and artist Fred Somers, contributor to Pure Color: The Best of Pastel.

River City, located at 306 Division Street in downtown Northfield right next to the Northfield Arts Guild, will keep its doors open even later than usual. Whether you’re a shopper or a business owner, I hope the night’s a smashing success.
