Young Adult Club Seeking Some ‘Truth’

truth.JPGWhen the calendar flips from one year to the next, many people make resolutions. I will eat less chocolate. I will spend $19 fewer each month on café lattes. I will buy more bird feeders and will keep them well stocked even in the dead of winter. You know, that sorta thing.

The new year, I have found, is not only the chance to reassess bad habits, it’s also a time to embrace new opportunities. For example, one could, if he or she were so inclined, join a young adult book club. As luck would have it, I know a club that is welcoming new members at this very moment.

The River City Books young adult club — which will next meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at RCB — is seeking additional readers. The book to be read is The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen, which is in stock at River City for a hefty discount to participating members of the club (even if you haven’t been to a past meeting).

So stop by the store and pick up your copy — the first step to a new you.

Or something like that.
