Poetry Club Goes On ‘Guard’

guard.jpgNatasha Trethewey’s Native Guard won the Pulitzer Prize. I am sure that looks good on her mantel. An only somewhat lesser honor came recently when the River City Books poetry book club tabbed the collection as its July selection.

The book club will gather at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, in the store’s downstairs meeting area.

This club, like all River City Books book clubs, is free and open to the public. Participants receive discounts on selected titles. But I may have mentioned that before.
