Fiction Club Confusion

shields.jpgThe River City Books fiction club always impresses me with the titles they select. But this month I’ll admit I’m a bit confused (more than I usually am, I mean). See, the group picked this book, which, if you search for it at the old neighborhood bookstore, is properly shelved under nonfiction. The biography section, specifically.

Either the fiction club is making an editorial statement about this book — one they would not be unique in making, I have been told by one credible source — or they just really want to learn more following a recent reading/discussion of To Kill a Mockingbird.

The answer to that vexing question (and many others) will be revealed during the club’s next meeting, which I am here to say is some 48 hours away: 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7, in the downstairs meeting area at RCB.

New members welcome.
