Club Will Save Some ‘Fish’ Tuesday Night

fish.jpgThe San Francisco Chronicle, I happened to notice (I read a lot of newspapers), called Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan “A superbly executed, good-hearted farce that is part romance and part mystery … With Tan’s many talents on display, it’s her idiosyncratic wit and sly observations . . . that make this book pure pleasure.”

The ever-interesting River City Books fiction book club will congregate at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the store’s downstairs meeting area to consider whether members agree with that assessment. Undoubtedly, there will also be some laughter. The club always seems to have a good time.

If you have never been, consider stopping by and sitting in on the meeting. The club is free and open to the public and members receive a 20 percent discount on selected titles.

As I like to say, whether or not I am nibbling on leftovers at DJJD (just a few days away!), it’s all good.
