A Super Tuesday for a Book Club Meeting

hansel.jpgThe media is referring to Tuesday, Feb. 5, as “Super Tuesday.” Some, I have noticed, are going a step further with “Super Duper Tuesday.” I don’t know why the adjectives are necessary. After all, the River City Books fiction book club always meets on a Tuesday. What’s so special this month?

Well, maybe there is a reason. The club is meeting — at 7 p.m. in the store’s downstairs meeting area — to discuss The True Story of Hansel and Gretel by Louise Murphy, a book that is, ironically, a novel.

Of course, of course, meetings are free and open to the public. And participants receive 20 percent off selected titles.

Which, now that I think of it, is pretty super.
